Drupal Quick Tip #8: Admin Module

This isn't so much a quick tip as much as it is an ad for the phenomenal Admin module which I've recently discovered. It adds inline content editing, views administration, block editing, a newer and much improved administration section layout and a great toolbar at the top of all pages. Here's how to setup it up:

Drupal Quick Tip #5: Update Status Notifications

This one's pretty simple but not as obvious as some might think. We all know the Update Status module checks for updates for your modules automatically when the cron runs (if you aren't using the Update Status module, you should be) which makes keeping up to date pretty easy. But you don't really want to have to login to check all the time to see if there are updates available, especially if you have a lot of sites to keep track of. Wouldn't it be nice if your site would just email you when updates are available? Here's how.
What you'll need: cron maintenance properly configured, Update Status module

Drupal Quick Tip #3: Admininstrator Role

Luckily, as with most things Drupal, there's a module to fix this.

Drupal Quick Tip #2 : URL Aliases

Have you ever wanted to simplify a URL or just have an easier URL to remember for specific content on your site? That's where URL Aliases come into play. You can set a second, third, fourth, as many URLs as you want to point to a node.
What you'll need: Path module enabled

I found a nifty way of automatically removing content from the site which may contain words you don't want displayed.
